Cecil House Restoration Project

Next meeting: Future meeting dates will be announced
The Cecil Hotel, located at the corner of Caroline and Bladen Streets was, as most of you know, purchased by the Town of Charlestown in 2009 year to prevent this historic structure, built in 1809, from being removed from the Town. We have lost historic buildings in the past. This is a difficult renovation project in these current economic times, as grant money to repair the structure is very difficult to obtain. We do have a very enthusiastic group of individuals, however, having experience in many facets of restoration and construction, contributing their time to assist in the process. We are hopeful that grant money will be more readily available in the upcoming years to enable the Town to continue the renovation project. If you wish to donate to the preservation of this historical site, you may contact Town Hall for more information.
