Wilbur ‘Wib’ Pumpaly– Town Administrator

Wib was born and raised in Beaver Falls, PA, graduated from Beaver Falls High School and Geneva College in 1961. He entered the U.S. Army in1961, graduated from the Officer Candidate School at Fort Jackson, S.C., as a 2nd Lieutenant, in December of 1961, and was stationed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center for the remainder of his military service.

After military service he joined the Joseph E. Seagram Co, Inc. in Baltimore, MD for 10 years, working mainly in plant supervision and personnel. He joined Fisher Scientific Co for 25 years in sales and sales management and McCormick & Co. in Hunt Valley, MD for 9 years, having retired from all three companies. Wib accepted a position with the Town of Charlestown, as Town Administrator, in December of 2008.

He and his family have lived in Charlestown for 20 years and have been coming to Charlestown to enjoy the water oriented activities since 1980. Wib was elected to the Charlestown Board of Commissioners in mid-1990 and served as Vice-President for several years.
